Miss Blandine
Blandine is an African Singer/Song writer born in Congo and raised in Canada.
She sang as a backing vocalist for several major Canadian and international artists such as :
Mbilia Belle, Lokassa Ya Mbongo, the Qua tier Latin of Kofi Olomide, Juno Award Nominees
such as Donne Roberts, Melanie Durant.
After a few years as a dancer and back vocalist, Blandine started her solo career as an Popular
Congolese music singer, well know as Rumba Music. In her music Blandine pours her heart
and soul by fusing various congolese genre with a 4 piece ensemble, guitar, bass, keyboards,
drum. Her unique and soulful jazzy vocal style appeals not only to those with a broad music
knowledge but also those who are great congolese music fans.
Blandine made several appearances at major festivals in Toronto and Montreal, New York,
Colombia, Quebec City, Africa where she shares her story of a Congolese women wishing to
return to her home land. Blandine and her band create music that reflects originality, passion,
talent, hope, happiness and creativity.
She has recently released her debut album title: L’antidote. An album of pure rumba and soukous music.
